Jouett Jargon, 20 June 1968 — "HOBART": "THE AUSTRALIAN DESTROYER HMAS HOBART STEAMED INTO THE BIG U.S. NAVAL BASE OF SUBIC BAY IN THE PHILLIPINES TODAY FOR REPAIRS FOLLOWING A ROCKET ATTACK OFF THE VIETNAM COAST. HOBART WAS HIT SUNDAY BY AN 'AIR-TO-AIR ROCKET POSSIBLY FIRED BY FRIENDLY AIRCRAFT.'" Two Australian sailors were killed. Mike annotated this article: "This gave us a scare!" The friendly fire incident involving USAF F-4 Phantoms mistakenly attacking HMAS Hobart, USS Boston, and several small craft near Tiger Island on 17 June indicated chaotic air defense conditions in the same area where Jouett was firing Terrier missiles at MIGs that same day.
